Thimphu Festival Tour 8 nights/9 days
Day 01: Arrival Paro, Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing, evening drive to Thimphu. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 03: Full day sightseeing - visit Memorial Chorten, Dupthop Lhakhang, Simtokha Dzong, National Library, Painting School, Indigenous Paper Factory, Handicrafts Emporium, Folk Heritage Museum, Textile Museum, Wood craft center, gold & silver smiths at work, Indigenous Hospital of Traditional Medicine, Post & Telegraph office for view of Bhutanese stamps and stroll in town. Evening drive to Sangyegang for view of Thimphu valley and Tashichhodzong. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 04: Early breakfast and attend the first day of the Tshechu, which is held in the courtyard of Tashichho Dzong. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 05: Morning attend festival, after lunch options either continue attend the Tshechu or Visit Dechen Chholing-Tango-Cheri valley. After dinner, if you are interested, you could visit Night Clubs. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 06: You again have options to day either Attend Thimphu Tshechu or could Take a day excursion to Phajodhing, which lies on the west of Thimphu at an Alt. of 3,700m. It is about four hours walk from Thimphu and this is considered one of the enjoyable hikes. From Phajodhing, you will have the most spectacular view of Thimphu valley and the mountains around. There are several monasteries and a state monastic school in Phajodhing. It is also a place of meditation for many devout Buddhists. You will have pack lunch on the way and walk back to Thimphu. Evening Stroll in the town and purchase souvenirs. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 07: Morning attend festival afternoon drive to Punakha-Wangdiphodrang. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 08: Sightseeing and drive back to Paro. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 09: Drive to the airport for departure.
