Calcutta Zoological Garden
Location: Calcutta
Operating Hours: Opens daily from 8.00am to 5.00pm, except on Thursday.
Description: One of the oldest and largest zoos in India. Contains a children's zoo and an aquarium with rare varieties of fishes. Entry fee of Rs. 3.


Ajanta and Ellora Caves
Location: Maharashtra
Operating Hours:
Description: Discovered in the 19th century, these caves were shrines cut out of rock by hand. One of the wonders of ancient Indian architechture.


Taj Mahal
Location: Agra, on the banks of the river Yamuna
Operating Hours:
Description: Built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan as a memorial to his wife, this shrine tooks 22 years to complete.


Dachigam Wildlife Sanctuary
Location: Kashmir
Operating Hours:
Description: Situated in a valley with a large meandering river running through it, this is one of the most scenic parks in India. Catch the very rare Kashmir stag, musk deer, or black and brown bears in the surrounding mountain slopes. The best time to visit is from June to July.

Jodhuur
Founded 1459.A startling fortress-city and shopper's paradise for rare artifacts not found elsewhere. Apart from the grandeur of the imposing palace and fort, the city itself is a piece of remarkable history.


Sights:
Mehrangarh Fort - One of the most imposing sights of India with it's intricately carved sandstone edifice sitting ,seemingly impregnable, atop a 400 ft high rock. Inc Museum of colourful, historical artefacts. Also: Mandore (8kms) - former capital. Landscaped gardens, ancient temples, cenotaphs; Hall of Heroes - 16 larger than life sculptures, carved from one rock, of Hindu & folk deities

Goa:
The palm fringed bays and the sea waves seem to possess a soothing property unattained by many medicines. The beautiful blues of the sky and the beach repeatedly attract tourists. Down south we have the Covelong beach that even has a fishing settlement besides the sandy beach. Silvery fish in the small boats give a feel of the rustic lifestyle of the people. It has an excellent stretch besides the ruins of Old fort and church. The sundecks along with the ethnic setting of a village provide an advantage to the tourists at the Kovalam beach in Kerala. Besides Kovalam lives true to its name, which means a grove of coconut trees on the Malabar Coast. Being the most popular beach amongst sea surfers, the Kovalam beach is renowned for the yoga and other health related activities.
