Itinerary
Day 01: Kathmandu: Arrival in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Delhi: Full day sightseeing of New and Old Delhi. Overnight at hotel.


Day 03: Patna/Nalanda/Rajgir: Transfer to airport in time to connect flight to Patna. On arrival in Patna proceed to Bodhgaya, by surface, on route visit Nalanda and Rajgir. Nalanda is known as the ancient seat of learning. Overnight at Hotel.


Day 04: Bodhgaya: Visit Mahabodhi Temple and Niranjana River. The Bodhgaya Stupa, or Mahabodhi Vihara as it is also known, was erected in the place where Buddha Shakyamuni gained enlightenment some two thousand five hundred years ago.

Later leave for Varanasi by surface. Overnight at hotel.


Day 05: Sarnath: Early morning boat ride on river Ganges.: Afternoon visit Sarnath. At Sarnath the Buddha founded the Sangha with his five old companions as his first disciples. It was here that he preached his first discourse in the deer park to set in motion the 'Wheel of the Dharma'. It is one of the most holy sites as in this place the stream of the Buddha's teaching first flowed.  Overnight at hotel.


Day 06: Kushinagar: Leave for Kushinagar by surface. Kushinagar is the place that the Buddha chose for his Mahaparinirvana, or final exit from this earth.

Overnight at hotel.


Day 07: Lumbini: Leave for Lumbini by surface. Lumbini grove, the sacred site of Lord Buddha's birth is today a small village in Nepal, 27 kms from Sonauli on the Indo-Nepal border. Overnight at hotel.


Day 08: Kathmandu: Leave for Kathmandu by surface. Kathmandu has become the focal point of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. Bouddhanath in Kathmandu is among the largest stupas in South Asia. Overnight at hotel.


Day 09: Nagarkot: Early morning visit Nagarkot. Later visit Patan and Bhargaon. The temple of Mahabouddha in Patan is a masterpiece of terra-cotta. This temple was built by Abhaya Raj, a priest of Patan and is sometimes referred to as the temple of a million Buddhas because every single brick bears a small image of Buddha. Overnight at hotel.


Day 10: Patan/Bhargaon/Back Home: Morning brief city tour and later transfer to airport for onward destination.
