When Tibet first opened for travellers in 1985, The Ganden - Samye trail was the most popular trekking route crossing 2 mountain passes, beautiful alpine lakes and nomads. The trek begins from The Ganden Monastery (4180 m), 32 kms by road from Lhasa high above the Kyichu River and ends at The Samye Monastery. The main temple Utse at Samye represents Mount Meru, centre of the Universe. Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival: Upon your arrival at Lhasa (Gonggar Airport
96km from the main city) Transfer to Lhasa and Hotel check in. Afternoon

Day 02: Lhasa sightseeing: Sightseeing in Lhasa,
visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Market. O/N in Hotel.
Day 03: Lhasa sightseeing: Sightseeing in Lhasa,
visit Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. O/N in Hotel.
Day 04: Drive to Ganden Monastery. Trek to Hebu. Camp.
Day 05: Trek over Zhukar La Pass (5200m). Camp.
Day 06: Cross Chetur La Pass through alpine Lakes. Camp.
Day 07: Trek visiting Yomalung meditation cave enroute. Camp.
Day 08: Trek to The Samye Valley. Visit the Samye Monastery.

Day 09: Cross the Brahmaputra River and drive to Tsetang to
explore The Yambhulhakhang, Tibet's first castle and Cha-Duk Monastery.
